19th May 2016

As I write water levels on all the chalk streams are really good and this bodes well for the rest of the season.

Early fishing on the chalk streams has been good at times with good hatches of Grannom and some Hawthorn reported. Iron Blues and Large Dark Olives have both scored well.

The Mayfly are now out on the lower and middle Itchen and just starting on the upper river. The lower and middle Test, Anton and Dever report good hatches just appearing in numbers.

We are all anticipating an excellent season in 2016.

Happy fishing!
