Icelandic News   iceland

2nd July 2018
From the start of the season in early June water has been unusually high with air and water temperatures being low. Fish are currently staying in the bottom beats on rivers with major falls such as Nordura, Grimsa, Laxa in Kjos and Haffjardara. Those fishing here have enjoyed fantastic sport. As soon as temperatures rise these fish will run throughout these systems providing better sport upstream.
However, on Laxa in Dolum fish have run the whole river. Large MSW fish have been caught in numbers and the grilse run this year has been early which has made fishing productive.
As I write the fishing season in Iceland is looking extremely good with good catches expected throughout the South West rivers and more northern rivers.
There are still some good slots still available in 2018 for late bookers.
